if we build and fund research institutions and pay to educate people
beyond the point of diminishing returns for the research, we may still see
societal benefits in that an educated population is healthier.

why this blog will succeed
because I might be successful putting some form around some of my thoughts and thought experiments.
because it might serve as a creative anchor.
because I might enjoy the experience of being sneaky in public.
because at present, I have extra energy, and feel like time is leaking, and that might push me to do this well.

why this blog will fail
because I am all over the place, and think more in terms of aspects and fragments than coherent and consistent arguments.
because I resist being pinned down or serious.
because I tend to make things complicated beyond my own ability to understand them, and that is rarely a basis for good writing.
because I don't have a personal need for a large scale signaling exercise, especially one that requires anonymity.

write about 1
some creative writing exercises about water and its foils:
write about the asperated particles from a cough, ending with their dispersion, and starting with the bark from the diaphragm
write about the water preserved as criminal evidence from a victim of drowning
write about rippling and dissipation of energy in sauces and stews
